The Nominations and Elections (N&E) Committee is responsible for soliciting nominations for open executive board positions as well as developing a slate of fifteen (15) nominees for the next year's N&E Committee voting cycle.
In spring, the ballot for the election of members to the N&E committee will be made available for all Active, Associate, and Honorary Members. Active, Associate, and Honorary Members will be eligible to vote for up to six (6) candidates. The six (6) nominees receiving the most votes will serve on the next year's committee. In addition, the highest vote recipient from the previous year's committee will serve as vice chair and the past president will serve as chair. The term of service begins following the election of the N&E Committee and concludes with the N&E Committee meeting immediately following the annual business meeting.
The N&E Committee meets during the annual meeting to consider all nominated candidates. It passes its decision to the Board for final approval. The candidates are then presented to the annual meeting in the following years so that the membership may vote upon them. Successful candidates then assume their position on the Board.

Nominations & Elections Committee Candidates 2026

MacKenzie Boyd Academic Records and Compliance Representative Oregon State University
Candidate Statement:
I cannot overstate the impact of attending my first PACRAO in 2025 on my personal career goals and intended trajectory. The professional connections and engagement solidified that this is a career I want to pursue, and because of those career goals I have since pursued career development in my own office and recently started a new position as the Athletic Compliance Coordinator at Oregon State’s Office of the Registrar. I want to contribute to PACRAO’s continuing positive impact by getting involved.
I am interested in the Nominations and Elections Committee specifically because I have experience working on search committees and attended OSU's 6-week Search Advocacy workshop in September 2025. My background in running successful and equitable position searches would translate well to the process of nominating and electing future board positions

Shelly Hsu University Registrar California State University Fullerton
Candidate Statement:
I am honored to run for the PACRAO Nominations and Elections Committee to give back to an organization that has deeply shaped my professional growth. I care deeply about cultivating strong, diverse, and sustainable leadership that will carry PACRAO’s mission forward with a student-centered focus. If elected, I will champion a fair, transparent, and collaborative nominations process that welcomes a broad range of voices from all institution types, roles, and backgrounds. Drawing on my experience as a registrar in mentoring, consensus-building, and shared governance, I will focus on creating pathways for emerging leaders and strengthening our leadership pipeline. My goal is to ensure our board truly reflects the evolving diversity of the students and communities we serve. I would appreciate your support and your vote.

Paul Lampano Deputy Registrar University of California, Irvine
Candidate Statement:
Hello PACRAOians – my name is Paul Lampano and I am seeking a position in the Nominations and Elections (N&E) Committee this year. I’ve been involved with PACRAO for 20 years and it has helped me grow professionally and make numerous connections within higher education. I’ve been on the PACRAO board two separate times and have been a faculty with the Leadership Development Institute in the past. I’m volunteering my experience within PACRAO and the N&E Committee to help our organization select our future leaders.

Adam Lucero Student Records Coordinator Portland Community College
Candidate Statement:
Hello from Portland! I’m proud to work as a Student Records Coordinator in the Records & Registration Office at Portland Community College. Along the way, I’ve also worked in Enrollment Services, Academic Advising, and Instruction—experiences that deepened my belief in the life-changing power of education. I enjoy improving systems, processes, and policies that help learners reach their goals, discover new opportunities, and build skills for the future.
Since joining PACRAO in 2022, I’ve found an inspiring community filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. Being part of the 2024 LDI Cohort was especially meaningful because it gave me the chance to collaborate with colleagues from across the PACRAO network and learn from their diverse experiences and perspectives.
Serving on the Nominations and Elections Committee would be an exciting opportunity to give back to an organization that has contributed to my professional growth. I’d love the chance to support PACRAO’s strong leadership tradition while gaining a deeper understanding of the organization. I bring an organized, strategic, and equity-minded approach to my work, along with enthusiasm for collaboration. It would be an honor to contribute to PACRAO’s continued success through service on this committee.

Joe Tate Director, Policy Implementation University of Phoenix
Candidate Statement:
I am a 19-year veteran in higher education registrar and admission operations, and a member of PACRAO for the past 14 years. I’ve presented sessions at several annual meetings on topics related to risk management, academic policy, and process improvement. I’m a firm believer in the value of our associations as members of PACRAO and in the rich source of professional growth and continuous improvement for our profession we obtain by sharing best practices with each other. As such, I’m deeply committed to PACRAO’s longevity and continued success. That’s why I was pleased to have the opportunity to serve on the PACRAO audit committee in 2024-2025, and why I’m seeking a role on the N&E committee, where I hope to further contribute to the organization’s effectiveness by helping to ensure we continue to have quality candidates who can serve on the Executive Board.

Kris Thrasher Manager, Admission and Evaluation - Document Processing University of Phoenix
Candidate Statement:
I am interested in serving on the PACRAO Nominations and Elections Committee as a way to continue my involvement beyond my work with the DDC and LDI and to support the long-term strength of the association. PACRAO’s impact depends on intentional, representative leadership, and the nominations process plays a key role in advancing that mission.

Jeff Williams Associate Registrar - Systems and Compliance University of California, Riverside
Candidate Statement:
I have been a member of PACRAO since 2019 and have seen firsthand how the work and success of our organization is built on the dedication and efforts of our members. I am incredibly grateful to my colleagues who encouraged me to step forward and become a more active participant, which led me to present at the 2025 annual conference and serve on the Program Committee for our 2026 conference. I see the Nominations and Elections Committee as a wonderful opportunity to pay forward that same encouragement and extend a hand to others. It would be a privilege to serve on this committee to support the work that PACRAO does by helping to identify and encourage our future leaders.
