President's Bio

Michele Sandlin is the Director of Admissions and the Campus Visitor Center at Oregon State University. Michele has been with Oregon State for over 12 years, and during that time the enrollment of the university has increased by over 40%. She began as the Senior Associate Director for her first five years and was responsible for reengineering the processing division which reduced turnaround time on admission decisions from 3 months to 2 weeks. Her expertise is in the area of operations, non-cognitive and holistic admissions, partnership programs between community colleges and the university, personnel and team building.

Michele is the current 2007-08 President of PACRAO. She launched and served as the Chair of the AACRAO Admissions Institutes, which provides practical training across the country for new professionals, has been a President of Oregon ACRAO, recently served as Program Coordinator for AACRAO Group 1 Admissions and Enrollment Management, and is the 2008-09 Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment Management for AACRAO. Michele is the recipient of the AACRAO Biliger Outstanding Service Award for 2005-06. She currently serves on the North America College and University Recognition Board for the International Baccalaureate Organization, and is Chair of the Oregon Transfer Days Task Force.

Michele has had a 27 year career in enrollment management, having held leadership roles in Admissions, Orientation, Registration and Records, and Financial Aid. Her career began at Western State College in Colorado, and continued at University of Oregon, Pacific University, Portland State University, and Oregon State University. She completed her Master of Science degree in 1996 in Higher Education Administration at Portland State University. She is a native of the Colorado Rockies, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Sciences from Colorado State University in 1979.
